Art Guild of Person County

Where: The Kirby Gallery, 213 North Main Street, Roxboro, North Carolina 27573

Winning Categories:           Best in Show - $300

Digital/Photography - $100* 3-Dimensional - $100*

                       Hard Surface - $100* Paper - $100*
*There will be small monetary awards for 2nd and 3rd place in Digital/Photography, 3-D, Hard Surface, and Paper.

Entries must be original paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture, photographs or computer generated art executed in the past two years not produced in a class or workshop

• All 2-dimensional work must be framed, wired, and ready to hang. (Painting on gallery canvas can be frame free, but must be wired.). No sawtooth hangers.  Artwork must be labeled on back.
• Images on paper should be under glass.
• Maximum framed size is 48” x 48”.
• Freestanding work has a maximum height of 60”.
• A completed Entry Card, ID labels (on back of artwork), and the entry fee are required at drop off.

The Kirby Gallery reserves the right not to exhibit unsuitable work.
Open to all artists 18 and over.   

Entry fee:  $15 - paid members (renewing or joining prior to event) submitting up to two pieces

       $25 - non-members submitting up to two pieces

Art Guild of Person County Membership:

       $25 for one year per individual or $40 for one year per family

       $15 for one year special membership for students 18 years of age or older

In the event of the sale of a piece of artwork, a commission fee will be subtracted from the purchase price:
10% - Art Guild of Person County members, 15% - Person County residents, 25% - Non Person County residents

Drop Off: 10 am - 2 pm Saturday, April 27th or 1 - 5 pm Tuesday, April 30th
Pick-up: 10 am - 2 pm Saturday, June 1st or 1- 5 pm Tuesday, June 4th or at the June 4 guild meeting

Reception:  6 - 8 pm Friday, May 10th

Kate's show will hang from March 25 - April 23, 2013

The Reception is Sunday, March 24 from 2 - 4 pm

Beginning next Tuesday, Feb. 26, members of the Art Guild are invited to join in sketching from a live model.  Our clothed model will pose, sitting or standing in position for up to 10 minutes per pose as we increase our skill in drawing the human figure.  We will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Burrus house, which is owned by St. Mark's Episcopal Church and is located on the other side of the parking lot next to the church.  

Mickie Reitzel has a reception this Sunday from 4-5 at the Old Country Club Steak House (555 Community House Rd,  Roxboro, NC 27574).  All are welcome to stop by and see her artwork.

If you are interested in having a show at the Old Country Club Steak. House email Mickie at mreitzel@embarqmail.com.  The shows will be rotated every two months.

December Show

Please be reminded that artwork will be accepted for the December show on Saturday, December 1 from 1:00- 4:00 pm.  

The theme is "Jubilation".

Size requirements are for work that will fit into a space allotted similar to two 24 x 24 paintings for each artist.

The reception will be held on December 6th - more details to follow later.

The Junior League of Raleigh and Visual Art Exchange present "Small Treasures"

The Junior League of Raleigh (JLR) and Visual Art Exchange (VAE) present Small Treasures, a juried art exhibition October 24-28, 2012. This exhibit is a special feature of the JLR's A Shopping SPREE!, an annual four-day shopping fundraiser that attracts approximately 12,000 shoppers annually from around the country.

Small Treasures will be juried by Melissa Peden and Rory Parnell with over $1,000 in prizes.

Artists may enter up to two pieces exploring this year's theme of Small Treasures. In keeping with this year's theme, work must measure no more than 20x20". This exhibit is open to all two-dimensional artwork, excluding photography, by living Carolina artists.
