ORANGE COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY (OCPL) TO HOST FALL EXHIBIT BY LOCAL ARTIST JOE DI BONA

ORANGE COUNTY, NC (September 3, 2013)—The OCPL Main Library will host a 20-piece exhibition by local artist Joe Di Bona. The artwork will be displayed in downtown Hillsborough from September 7 through October 3.

Di Bona creates “outsider art” featuring bold colors and images that are meant to provoke the viewer’s thoughts and challenge conventions.

The public is invited to attend an artist meet-and-greet, which  will be hosted on Saturday, September 7, from 3:00  p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Main Library, where Di Bona will discuss his art and be available to answer questions.

Di Bona, who resides in Timberlake, is a self-taught artist. He’s an associate professor emeritus of education at Duke University and has traveled the world extensively.

The Orange County Public Library is committed to supporting the arts, sharing ideas and strengthening the Orange County community through the regular exhibition of local artwork. Each spring, the Main Library displays artwork from the Orange County Schools, as well as four to five additional juried exhibitions throughout the year.
